A REPORT FROM WHITE PARTY PALM SPRINGS BREAKING NEWS:

The West Coast is suffering from a mammoth drought. Case in point -

Palm Springs White Party. But this particular drought was not just about

lack of water, rather, it was caused by a lack of originality, equipment

expertise, ventilation and cool air. If it wasn't for the spectacular

crowd that makes Palm Springs, California its preferred party

destination, this weekend would shamefully have worn the title "Valley

of the Dulls." The powers that be at Jeffrey Sanker Enterprises must

have racked their brains for months to come up with the ingenious idea

to make eight separate and distinct parties seem like the same one.

Perhaps the new motto is: "To enjoy White Party Weekend, each partygoer

must observe but never think." We all found ourselves asking the same

questions over and over again. "Haven't I been in this room before?"

"Didn't I already see this show before?" "Didn't they play this song

before?" But White Party Palm Springs triumphs over all obstacles

because of the exceptional clientele it attracts. This is not to suggest

that the crowd was just "beefy" and "easy on the eyes" (although it

was). This is not to suggest that the Palm Springs Hotel Registry read

like a "Who's Who" of circuit celebrities (although it did). Rather, it

is a testament to the cohesive harmony found at this West Coast party.

The genuine "magic in the desert" reputation belongs to the partiers

that Jeffrey's mega-weekend lures to the dance. Despite a multitude of

technical blunders and other shortcomings, Palm Springs White Party XII

ultimately persevered, solidly earning its supreme circuit status as THE

spring party destination weekend.

Madonna Tour 1002 Madonna has confirmed she'll embark on a summer tour

this year. It will be her first official tour since 1993's The Girlie

Show. Although no solid dates have been confirmed, the shows will begin

in the US in June and end up in Europe in September. The star is

believed to have earmarked several dates at London's Earl's Court for

her UK dates. Madonna's spokeswoman said the star hadn't confirmed dates

or venues but was relishing the idea of touring again. 'She's really

excited about doing it,' said Rosenberg. 'We'll know the full details

within the next week or so for sure.' Madonna recently told Interview

magazine in America that she was ready to tour again but nervous about

competing with the likes of Britney and N* Sync. 'I'm finally going to

drag my ass into a rehearsal studio,' she said. 'I never want to repeat

myself. I don't see the point of doing a show unless you offer something

that is going to mind-boggle the senses. It's not enough to get on the

stage and sing a song. It's all about theatre and drama and srurprise

and suspense. So I'm looking forward to it but I'm also nervous about

it.' Madonna's 'secret' gig at London's Brixton Academy last year scored

a record number of web viewers when it was screened live.
